The Way to Protect Vaping Starts With YOU!

Activism [ak-tuh-viz-uh m]:

“The doctrine or practice of vigorous action or involvement as a means of achieving political or other goals, sometimes by demonstrations, protests, etc.""

Working at a vape shop for a year and a half, I would talk to customers about activism all the time. Pushing to get people to register to vote and educating them on possible regulations and the officials who support the vaping community. However getting people to actually vote in local elections just didn’t happen. I was amazed by the number of people who would say “I don't vote because my vote doesn’t actually matter."" The number of people who don’t vote outnumbers the people who do by a large margin. So why do people complain about laws or lawmakers if they don’t vote themselves? I felt that as a community we were lacking somewhere. The believe that shifting our focus to educating non-vapers is a vital area we have been missing.  According to the CDC, 1 in 4 nonsmokers (58 million people) in the US are still exposed to secondhand smoke (SHS). That is 58 million people that we are missing the opportunity to have on our side. With all of the 2016 state legislative sessions beginning, the time to start helping is NOW!

What more can you do to help?

-- Get involved in local groups who are fighting for our rights to vape locally, and these groups have a huge impact on what happens on a national level. Donate whatever you are comfortable with to these groups because they are helping to fight this right now

-- Make a goal to talk to 3 people about vaping and the importance of helping to protect it. Tell those 3 people to pass the information on to 3 more people.
