Ω= Ohms = Resistance
Ω Ohm’s Law states that the current, through a conductor, between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference or voltage across the two points, and inversely proportional to the resistance between them.
The ohm (symbol: Ω) is the SI derived unit of electrical resistance, named after German physicist Georg Simon Ohm.
So what does this mean in simple terms for vaping?
Lower Resistance = Lower Ω
- Hotter vape
- More Vapor
- Reduced battery life
- Stronger throat hit
- Increased e-liquid usage
Higher Resistance = Higher Ω
- Cooler vape
- Less vapor
- Smoother throat hit
- Longer battery life
- Reduced e-liquid usage
—— So if the resistance is high, less electricity will pass through the coil. So to produce more heat, you can use a coil with a lower resistance. However, as more energy is used in producing the heat (i.e. lower resistance coil), you will use up your battery more quickly.
—— Keep in mine that everyone’s “ideal vape" is different, so a resistance that works for one person might not work for you. You will need to experiment with different resistance atomizers (coils) to find the one that works for you.
